ASHA BISTRO – A good place to enjoy Beachfront Dining
Good Quality – Amazing Beach View – Friday BBC
Location
The Asha Bistro Is located Near the Baharini Shopping Center. It is on the Opposite side of the road from the shopping center. Where Kokkos Bistro is found you will see a road that leads downhill past the Kokkos Bistro towards the beach. At the bottom of the hill, you will see a wooden gate with its logo Asha Boutique hotel.
Environment
The Asha Bistro is a Bar & Restaurant that is found within the 4 walls of the Asha Boutique Hotel which is free to be visited by anyone from anywhere. The place is vibrant with a lush and jungle-like garden with plenty of water bodies and water fountains giving it a unique and distinctive character as you walk over a bridge to enter its main hall that leads directly towards the beach and pool area.
However, the hotel facilities are only to be used by in-house guests which include the pool, lounge area, and sunbeds. Once you do arrive at the bistro side you will have the option to sit either directly on the beach or in a roofed complex that has a bit of a beach view. The roofed complex can be seen as more of a communal spot for larger groups whereas the beachside seems to be more for groups of 4 or less.
Food
The Asha Bistro has a pretty much international menu layout where each can find something that tingles their taste buds both local and international cuisine.
Asha puts a lot of pride in their seafood menu which becomes apparent once you open the menu card with the majority of items being seafood, Such as Chilly ginger grab or grilled lobster and various other grilled fish items. Neither less like mentioned above its all about global taste meaning that you will find anything from vegetarian, curries, kids meals, comfort food, or also known soul food at the bistro. They do also have a Friday special which is their BBQ at the beach which is served straight off the grill to your plate.
We have tested a Ceasars Salad and a Classical Burger. Good presentation.
Drinks
Like every other Hotel or Bistro, the Asha Bistro has pretty much all that there is to offer in regards to beverages and more. On the coffee side interestingly they have items like Viennese, Irish, Russian, and mount Kenya coffee including obviously the usual suspects.
Gin, Vodka, Rum, Whisky, and Brady can be bought in both shots or bottles. Beers and other soft drinks are also available which also is to be noted that they have some pretty good-looking cocktails.
Service Team
Their service team was super friendly at the time of being there. Big smiles informative about meals and ingredients. Quiet fast with the delivery of what we ordered. We wouldn’t have anything to complain about except for forgetting to add a soda to our bill which we didn’t mind but did remind him that he is short on a soda.
Price Value
The hotel on its own isn’t necessarily a cheap place that directly reflects the price tag that you will be greeted by once you open the menu. it’s not overpriced and not underrated. You pay for what you get
Cleanness
Overall the Asha Bistro leave a well-maintained impression from their gardening to their pool area, the toilets were okay as far as we could see. Our dining spot was also kept tidy at all times.
Conclusion
The Asha Bistro is a perfect spot to perhaps a day off with friends and family at the beach where you can eat well, enjoy the beach vibes maybe go for a walk. I can see this place working as a full-time day engagement opportunity.
The only thing that we didn’t enjoy was the constant approach by the constant beach hustlers. We hate to say but while eating or having a conversation being stopped by the 10th person to ask us to buy a coconut gets a bit frustrating over a longer period. However, we definitely recommend the spot as one of the rare direct beach dining places and we had a good time at the Asha Bistro.
